Whether you are using jpgs, pngs or eps files, you want to make the files that you upload to your internet site as tiny as practicable.When it comes to graphics and web design, you are going to want to think little. Use the kinds of graphics that fit the content. For instance, if you're putting up an internet site that's all about ferrets, you don't want to put a picture of a dog on your internet site. When using photos, try and use compressed files : tiffs and JPGs work best . Avoid using pictures that move, blink, flash or revolve. Use vector graphics instead of raster graphics. Vector photographs are outlined by mathematics, not pixels. They can be scaled down or up without any loss of quality. There are 2 reasons why you want to use vector graphics - they are far smaller than their raster opposite number, and if you blow it up, it will not pixelate. Vector formats include EPS ( encompassed sequel ), AI ( Adobe Illustrator ), WMF ( Windows Metafile ), DXF ( AutoCAD ), CDR ( CorelDraw ), PLT ( Hewlett Packard Graphics Language Plot File ) and SVG ( Scalable Vector Graphics ). Sizing down or up in Adobe Illustrator then saving the file as a JPEG makes for a miniscule graphic file.
Photos are generally raster pictures, so you would like to make them as tiny as practical. The usual raster image formats include BMP ( Windows Bitmap ), PCX ( Paintbrush ), JPEG ( Joint Photographics Expert Group ), row ( Tag Interleave Format ), PNG ( portable Network Graphic ), GIF ( Graphics Interchange Format ), CPT ( Corel PhotoPAINT ) and PSD ( Adobe PhotoShop ).
When it comes down to utilizing images on your page, you will want to wrap text around it. Sometimes photos and graphics should add to the layout and not take it over or overmaster the feel and look of what is presented to the reader. The content is of primary importance with the graphics adding to the readability and understanding of what is being presented.
