Any clever person has told: itIt is impossible to learn to float under the textbookit. To it I would add: itIt is impossible to learn business under the textbook or in a business schoolit. At this first stage we with my partners had only initial theoretical knowledge and absolutely small practical experience of business management. We still should acquire a little simple, but severe lessons to which can learn only on bitter experience. Besides the success can become a cause of accident, among the lessons received by me there was following:1. Friends not always appear good partners.
2. The profitable company can experience serious financial difficulties.
3. Such insignificant trifles as shortage of threads, can stop all manufacture.
4. People not always repay debts it they not always have a possibility to pay tick. Those who does not pay, do not like.
5. Patents and trade marks it an indispensable condition of success in business.
6. Fidelity can disappear very quickly.
7. The financial documentation and book keeping should be in an ideal order.
8. The strong team of managers and group of highly skilled advisers, first of all lawyers and economists are necessary for the good company.
9. To create business, many money is necessary.
10. Business kills not absence of money. More often the reason is covered in a lack of business experience and insufficient honesty of the businessman.
The full list of lessons is much longer. Experience of the world success and the world failure has appeared invaluable. I had to pass through it not one, and the whole two times. And though I am am pleased not too with prospect to repeat this experiment, I am ready to it, because such lessons of the expensive stand, if, of course, you have a desire to study on the errors. Each failure in business opened to me what I did not know and that should learn; the received knowledge conducted me to new success.
In 1979 I have understood that but a throat is full such training. I have made a heap of errors, completely it in own incompetence and did not want anything else the nobility. My nonsense would suffice for training of the whole crowd to the people, but it seemed to the rich daddy of it a little. In the spring of 1979 I have entered into its office and have shown it the financial report of my company. Having seen it, the rich daddy has reproachfully shaken a head and has told: itAt your company a financial cancer, and, I am afraid, it is a fatal case. You, children, have finished the company which could grow in the big and solid enterpriseit to the handle.
