Droid : Icons Have Come a Great Distance
The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology. The Droid icons are smooth, easy to identitfy and tend to convey what they mean in a relatively nice show that allows for ease in comprehensionIt used to be, you had 3 to five icons on your cell phone to tell you everything that's happening with your cellular world. Nowadays there is plenitude of icons, and at the forefront are the iPhone and the Verizon Droid.
Now you can see not only voicemail as an icon, but if you missed a call, if there is a call on hold, new voicemail or new e-mail message. You may know if there's an issue with your SMS or MMS delivery, if there is new instant message, if data is syncing or if a song is playing on your phone. The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology.
If the ringer is off in silent mode or if the speakerphone is on - there is a separate icon for it. You can tell if there is a call on hold, if the call is forwarded or if there us a calling progress. It will also tell you if GPS is enabled and if it is working.
The Droid icons are smooth, easy to identify and have a tendency to convey what they mean in a comparatively nice show that allows for ease in understanding. The Droid desires this level of icons because it does so much. It has got a plane mode where wireless services are automatically set to off.
All these icons are show in the status bar on the top of the Droid. Naturally, you get the usual icons, but there are icons for pending Notifications and Messages. This suggests that all of the calls, SMS messages and new emails are all shown in this section. They'll be there till you look after them. This is excellent for when you are away from your mobile phone.
The Droid doesn't give audio reminders, but it does give you masses of icons and a green blinking light which will turn on the status bar so that you can look after any outstanding actions that are shown by the various icon notices. All you need to do then is turn on your Droid and touch the explicit icon that measures up to an action. You can then fix it.
For as cool as the Droid is, occasionally it has to be rebooted. You can spot when this is occurring when the see though wheel icon starts spinning non stop. You will need to use the Advance Task Killer if you have it, and can use it. There are various types icons for diverse services and apps. Everything from apps to actions to take, Droid icons are easy-to-read and pretty clear cut.
