The Droid icons are smooth, easy to identitfy and tend to convey what they mean in a relatively nice display that allows for ease in understandingIt used to be, you had 3 to 5 icons on your cell phone to tell you everything that's happening with your cellular world. Today there is plethora of icons, and at the forefront are the iPhone and the Verizon Droid. Now you can see not only voicemail as an icon, but if you missed a call, if there is a call on hold, new voicemail or new e-mail message. You'll know if there's a problem with your SMS or MMS delivery, if there is new instant message, if information is syncing or if a song is playing on your telephone. The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology. If the ringer is off in silent mode or if the speakerphone is on - there is a separate icon for it. You can tell if there is a call on hold, if the call is forwarded or if there us a calling progress. It will also tell you if GPS is enabled and if it is working. The Droid icons are smooth, simple to identify and tend to convey what they mean in a relatively nice display that allows for ease in comprehension. The Droid wants this level of icons because it does so much. It's got an airplane mode where wireless services are instantly set to off. All of these icons are show in the status bar on the apex of the Droid. Of course, you get the common icons, but there also are icons for pending Notifications and Messages. This suggests that all of the calls, text messages and new e-mails are all shown in this section. They'll be there till you take care of them. This is great for when you're away from your cell telephone. The Droid doesn't give audio reminders, but it does give you plenty of icons and a green blinking light that may turn on the status bar so you can take care of any pending actions that are shown by the assorted icon notices. All you need to do then is turn on your Droid and touch the specific icon that corresponds to an action. You can then deal with it. For as cool as the Droid is, occasionally it must be rebooted. You can spot when this is occurring when the see though wheel icon starts spinning non stop. You will need to use the Advance Task Killer if you have it, and can use it. There are different types icons for varied services and apps. Everything from apps to actions to take, Droid icons are easy-to-read and pretty clear cut. ![]()
