Was lost six hundred thousand persons, the general material damage has exceeded billion dollars. But than to measure irreplaceable losses which have suffered art, history, a science and in general all human race! For the one and only morning people as if would begin and have lost terrible war, only the little were served as a consolation of amazing beauty by risings and declines which were given by an accident dust, - anything similar nobody saw since 1883, from eruption of Krakatau.Has hardly passed the first shock, the mankind has answered misfortune with resoluteness and unity, inconceivable during other, earlier epoch. Certainly, accident of such scales could and not repeat or repeat through thousand years but who would warrant that tomorrow it will not burst again... Disasters could appear next time even more awfully.
Also it has been decided that "the following time" will not be.
So the system "Space patrol" has arisen. After half a century it has completely justified herself. Has justified in rather unexpected image which has been not provided by the designer.
Chapter 2
THE NEWCOMER
By 2130 the set of small asteroids has been opened: the locators basing on Mars, marked them literally on ten a day. Computers of Space patrol automatically calculated their orbits and saved these data in the immense memory for that infrequent case if any fanatic-astronomer takes an interest in total statistics. The statistics looked very much impressively.
Largest of asteroids, Tserera, has been found out in the first day of a XIX-th century, and it was required more than hundred twenty years to finish the account of dwarfish planets to thousand. Hundreds opened them, there and then lost, and then found anew; asteroids crowded so densely that one angry astronomer has called them "parasites of heavens". It, probably, would shake that the Space patrol manages to watch each of a half-million of asteroids.
Among them only five giants - Tserera, a Pallada, the Juno, Evnomija and Vesta - exceeded of two hundred kilometres in a diameter; the overwhelming majority of asteroids was made, in effect, by boulders-overages, quite pertinent in any picturesque park. Almost all of them moved on the orbits lying between Mars and Jupiter; the attention of Space patrol was involved only with what approached much more close to the Sun and, hence, represented potential danger. But also among such hardly probable one of thousand though for all history of Solar system came nearer once to the Earth on distance of less one million kilometres.
