Sometimes behind rings it was possible to see any star which only a few has lost in brightness. Its light got through translucent rings, hardly flickering at times when it was covered with fragments more largely. For rings of Saturn, as it is known already since the nineteenth century, not it; laws of mechanics would not admit it. They consist of incalculable set of fragments. Possibly, it is the rests of the Moon approached too close and taken to pieces by an attraction of a planet. However, what their origin was, to mankind has carried that to it allowed to behold such miracle, because duration of their existence - only short instant in the history of Solar system.In 1945 one English astronomer has noticed that rings of Saturn are short-lived: they are influenced by gravitational forces which soon will destroy them. But it meant, as there were they rather recently - two-three million years ago.
However nobody has paid the slightest attention to curious coincidence: rings of Saturn have arisen at the same time, as the person on the Earth.

The moon of Saturn
On all other companions he has noticed only here and there meteoric craters - them was much less, than on Mars, - yes chaotic stains of light and a shade, alternating separate especially bright shreds and strips - is visible, congestions of the frozen gas. But on Japete the surface differed clearly expressed geographical contours, besides rather strange.
This companion, as well as the others, has been turned to Saturn always the same party; one hemisphere lay in a deep shade, and on it there were no elements of a surface. Other amazingly differed the kind - on it was evident is dazzling a white oval in the size about three hundred on six hundred kilometres. When Boumen has seen this surprising formation, only its part has been shined by the Sun, but the reason of unusual fluctuations of brightness of Japeta became clear at once. On an orbit West side the bright ellipse is paid to the Sun, so, and to the Earth; when Japet leaves on an East side of the orbit, from the Earth it is possible to observe only its other hemisphere poorly reflecting light. The huge ellipse looked irreproachably symmetric; it saddled equator Japeta, and its big axis lay strictly on a meridian. Contours have been so sharply outlined that it seemed, as if someone has accurately drawn it a white paint on a surface of this small moon. It was absolutely flat, and Boumen even has thought that this frozen lake but then it was impossible to explain correctness of its outlines unusually similar to the artificial.
