Droid : Icons Have Come A Long Way

The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology. The Droid icons are smooth, simple to identitfy and have a tendency to convey what they mean in a relatively nice presentation that allows for ease in understanding

It used to be, you had 3 to 5 icons on your mobile telephone to tell you everything that is happening with your cellular world. Today there is amplitude of icons, and at the forefront are the iPhone and the Verizon Droid.

Now you can see not only voicemail as an icon, but if you missed a call, if there's a call on hold, new voicemail or new email message. You will know if there's an issue with your SMS or MMS delivery, if there is new instant message, if data is syncing or if a song is playing on your telephone. The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology.

If the ringer is off in silent mode or if the speakerphone is on - there is a separate icon for it. You can tell if there is a call on hold, if the call is forwarded or if there us a calling progress. It will also tell you if GPS is enabled and if it is working.

The Droid icons are smooth, simple to identify and tend to convey what they mean in a comparatively nice show that allows for ease in comprehension. The Droid wants this level of icons because it does so much. It has got a plane mode where wireless services are automatically set to off.

This is superb for when you're away from your cell telephone.

The Droid doesn't give audio reminders, but it does give you lots of icons and a green blinking light that may turn on the status bar so that you can look after any pending actions that are shown by the various icon notices. All you need to do then is activate your Droid and touch the specific icon that corresponds to an action. You can then deal with it.

For as cool as the Droid is, sometimes it needs to be rebooted. You can spot when this is occurring when the see-through wheel icon starts spinning nonstop.
