Droid : Icons Have Come a Long Way
The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology. The Droid icons are smooth, straightforward to identitfy and tend to convey what they mean in a relatively nice show that allows for ease in comprehensionIt used to be, you had 3 to five icons on your mobile phone to tell you everything that's happening with your cellular world. These days there is amplitude of icons, and at the forefront are the iPhone and the Verizon Droid.
Now you can see not only voicemail as an icon, but if you missed a call, if there's a call on hold, new voicemail or new email message. You may know if there's an issue with your SMS or MMS delivery, if there is new instant message, if data is syncing or if a song is playing on your phone. The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology.
If the ringer is off in silent mode or if the speakerphone is on - there is a separate icon for it. You can tell if there is a call on hold, if the call is forwarded or if there us a calling progress. It will also tell you if GPS is enabled and if it is working.
The Droid icons are smooth, easy to identify and tend to convey what they mean in a relatively nice presentation that allows for ease in comprehension. The Droid desires this level of icons because it does so much. It even has an aircraft mode where wireless services are mechanically set to off.
All of these icons are show in the standing bar on the top of the Droid. Of course, you get the common icons, but there are also icons for pending Notifications and Messages. This indicates that all of the calls, texts and new mails are all shown in this section. They'll be there till you take care of them. This is superb for when you're away from your mobile phone.
The Droid doesn't give audio reminders, but it is doing give you plenty of icons and a green blinking light that may activate the status bar so you can look after any pending actions that are shown by the various icon notices. All you need to do then is activate your Droid and touch the specific icon that fits with an action. You can then fix it.
For as cool as the Droid is, occasionally it must be rebooted. You can say when this is occurring when the see-through wheel icon starts spinning non stop. You will need to use the Advance Task Killer if you have it, and can use it. There are different types icons for varied services and apps. Everything from apps to actions to take, Droid icons are easy to read and pretty clear cut.
