Those who makes absolutely new choice of the purposes, require deep changes. There is no need to torment itself, waiting any happy time. A question on how people are going to to spend last six months, helps them to comprehend, than they could be engaged, if circumstances have forced them to state a sober estimation of the life.

The conflict between the purposes

Essence in that at the correct control over time they can quite be engaged in those affairs which are pleasant to them already today. Now you have a list of the purposes.
