The Droid icons are smooth, straightforward to identitfy and have a tendency to convey what they mean in a relatively nice presentation that allows for ease in comprehensionIt used to be, you had 3 to five icons on your mobile phone to tell you everything that is taking place with your cellular world. These days there is plenitude of icons, and at the forefront are the iPhone and the Verizon Droid. Now you can see not only voicemail as an icon, but if you missed a call, if there is a call on hold, new voicemail or new email message. You may know if there's an issue with your SMS or MMS delivery, if there is new instant message, if information is syncing or if a song is playing on your phone. The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology. If the ringer is off in silent mode or if the speakerphone is on - there is a separate icon for it. You can tell if there is a call on hold, if the call is forwarded or if there us a calling progress. It will also tell you if GPS is enabled and if it is working. The Droid icons are smooth, easy to identify and have a tendency to convey what they mean in a relatively nice presentation that allows for ease in understanding. The Droid desires this level of icons as it does so much. It has got an airplane mode where wireless services are instantly set to off. All these icons are show in the status bar on the apex of the Droid. Of course, you get the common icons, but there also are icons for outstanding Notifications and Messages. This indicates that all of the calls, text messages and new e-mails are all shown in this section. They're going to be there till you look after them. This is great for when you are away from your cell-phone. The Droid doesn't give audio reminders, but it does give you masses of icons and a green blinking light that may activate the status bar so you can take care of any pending actions that are shown by the various icon notices. All that you need to do then is turn on your Droid and touch the specific icon that corresponds to an action. You can then deal with it. For as cool as the Droid is, occasionally it must be rebooted. You can say when this is happening when the translucent wheel icon starts spinning non-stop. You will need to use the Advance Task Killer if you have it, and can use it. There are various types icons for various services and apps. Everything from apps to actions to take, Droid icons are easy-to-read and pretty clear cut. ![]()
