Doctor Prescribes and Druggist Dispenses

As it is said “prevention is better then cure” but sometimes even after taking preventive measures still you fall prey to any illness or disease. In order to cure yourself from that illness or cure, willingly or unwillingly you have to take the drugs or medicines prescribed by doctor. A drug is a special kind of chemical which is made for the treatment of various diseases. There is a wide range of drugs and each drug is specified to cure a certain type of disease. A person, who is trained and professional, in preparing these drugs, is thus referred as a druggist. He/she is also named as pharmacist, dispenser or even pharmaceutical chemist.
Apparently it seems that druggist’s job is quite relaxed one and all he/she has to do is just prepare or distribute drugs. But the fact is that, his/her job is highly risky and demands complete concentration because any preparation or distribution of inappropriate drug can even take the life of any patient. So careless attitude of the druggist can’t be accepted or tolerated. A druggist is basically bound to read and follow the prescription of the doctor and distribute or dispense medicine exactly according tot that.
The druggist job demands high responsibility, because, incase of any complaint regarding medicine he/she will be answerable to the patient as well as to the hospital authorities. He/she is bound to prepare, dispense or sell medicines which are according to doctor’s prescription as well as patient’s disease. Moreover he/she should be sure and positive that they are selling the quality and standard drugs and there is no impurity in them which can make them non- effective.
A druggist not only distributes the required drugs to the patient but also briefly guides the patient about the doctor’s prescription like, at what time he should take the medicine and after which meals. In addition to that he/she can give general health tips and provide the patient with free health charts, diet charts or other information like that and can prove to be good and efficient druggist.
