Druggists Responsibility Starts Where Doctors Responsibility Ends

A druggist is actually your pharmacist, who gives you drugs according to the doctor’s prescription. Druggists are also called chemists. The druggist’s responsibility starts where doctor’s responsibility ends.
A druggist is a qualified and well trained person in his/her field. Just like doctors, they also have to go under hard years of studies and training. A druggist is not allowed to practice until he/she has an authentic license. This license is issued to ensure that no one is practicing pharmacy without having knowledge of it. Only a trained druggist has the knowledge about the chemical properties of a medicine and their reactions on a human body. They know what combination of medicine will suit a patient and what combination can turn out to be totally lethal far a patient’s body.
This is why a field of a druggist requires a lot of responsibility and concentration on the part of a practitioner. Most of the time a druggist is occupied with lots of patients at one time asking for prescribed medicines. A slight blunder of giving the wrong prescription to the patient might end up from minor effects to the devastating effects on the life of a patient.
The druggist is strongly required to give only the drugs prescribed by the doctor. They can’t add medicine of their choice in the prescription. Moreover, druggists can not sale drugs with strong addictive properties like heroine, marijuana, cocaine etc. if you find any druggist doing so, you can report about the concerned druggist, that can save the lives of many other people out there.
A druggist on the basis of his/her training and experience can also prescribe medication to the patient incase of any emergency, when there is no doctor available. The patient has to see a doctor afterwards as a druggist is not a doctor and can just provide you with the emergency aid.
